髓過氧化物酶（MPO）是一種四聚體(ti) 含血紅素蛋白，主要由中性粒細胞大量產(chan) 生，在其中發揮重要的抗微生物作用。當粒細胞脫顆粒時，MPO會(hui) 被釋放到細胞外空間。作為(wei) 中性粒細胞“呼吸爆發"的一部分，它能通過*（H₂O₂）和氯離子（Cl⁻）生成次氯酸（HOCl）。此外，MPO還能利用*氧化酪氨酸生成酪氨酰自由基。次氯酸和酪氨酰自由基均具有細胞毒性，可有效殺滅細菌及其他病原體(ti) 。遺傳(chuan) 性髓過氧化物酶缺乏症會(hui) 增加個(ge) 體(ti) 患免疫缺陷的風險。
